International Club

Eight years ago International Club was set up by Miss Johnson, a club made to learn about our link with Zambia. We meet every Thursday to talk about our Zambian partnership and global issues.  Throughout the year we fund-raise towards our Zambian fund this includes bake sales, non-uniform days and challenges. In the past we have visited schools in our local area to talk about our link school in Zambia and encourage them to start a link of their own. International Club are also responsible for the adoption of our very own beloved elephant Chamilandu. Miss Bird has recently assembled a pen pal club, as a lot of our students have pen pals.  We are always ready to welcome new members to International Club.

UPDATE February 2019

Today, Miss Bird is taking part in an important conference in Cuenca, Eastern Spain. The conference forms parts of the Erasmus+ scheme. Miss Bird is joining the Spanish teachers who visited Highfield in October to discuss the variances in the British and Spanish education systems.

Miss Bird will demonstrate what has been learnt by our visiting Spanish teachers when they visited us in October. Results from the project will then by shared by all participating countries and they will jointly think about possible future projects.

We wish Miss Bird lots of luck with her presentation and we are looking forward to seeing how this scheme progresses. We are extremely proud that Miss Bird is not only representing Highfield Middle School in Cuenca, but that she is presenting on behalf of British schools and offering our Spanish colleagues an important viewpoint in to the British education system.
