School Uniform September 2020

16th June 2020

We wrote to you in January to give you advanced notice that we will be tightening up our school uniform rules in September 2020.
Of course, at the time, we had no idea what was ahead. Currently children in school are not required to wear full uniform, as we are prioritising clothes being 'clean and comfy' above all else, in light of current circumstances. However, when school does finally begin to approach normal operation, we will be implementing our updated school uniform policy. There will be only minor changes to increase consistency, but it is important to remind you of these changes at this time.
There will be no changes to the polo shirts, sweaters and PE kits supplied through SALTO, but we are promoting greater consistency in other items, which can be bought from any
supermarket or high street store.
Only black trousers and skirts will be permitted after the summer (grey will no longer be an option) and skirts will need to be classic pleated school skirts. Black tailored shorts can be worn in the summer term and the first half of autumn term (April to October) only. Similarly, only plain black tights and socks (not ankle/trainer socks) will be allowed, and footwear will be ‘proper’ shoes.
The images below will hopefully clarify clearly our expectations, but if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch. You will notice that some footwear, popular in school in recent years, will no longer be accepted.
The vast majority of our pupils already wear uniform which will meet the new requirements, but please bear these changes in mind when you are renewing items over the summer months.
Kind regards
Richard Oades
