SMSC Quality Mark Award

SMSC QUALITY MARK AWARD

We were thrilled to open our post this morning and to receive this Silver Award for SMSC Accreditation. Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural (SMSC) development is the over-arching umbrella that encompasses personal development across the whole curriculum.

Ofsted puts SMSC ‘at the heart’ of school development. It requires schools to think about the kind of people we aspire to be, the kind of world we aspire to create, and the kind of education we aspire to provide. It includes behaviour, respect and tolerance.

We were visited before half term by an inspector as the culmination of months of work by Mr Mills, who has been gathering evidence and ensuring that we are covering all of the required SMSC objectives in school.

Huge thanks to Mr Mills for all of his hard work in helping Highfield to achieve this highly sought after award. We are, as always, so impressed with our pupils and it is to their credit that we have achieved this award.
